Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Oceans Management Contribution Agreements Program
On December 15, the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, the Honourable Joyce Murray, announced a national Call for Proposals process to support the achievement of Canada's Marine Conservation Targets through outreach, monitoring and stewardship, and capacity building. This process is being led out of DFO National Headquarters under the Oceans Management Contribution Agreement program and will close on February 11, 2022. Please click here for more information: Government of Canada launches Call for Proposals to support marine conservation efforts across Canada - Canada.ca
For those in the Maritimes, the DFO Maritimes Region's Marine Planning and Conservation Program is continuing to develop partnerships with regional groups using the Oceans Management Contribution Agreement program to advance collaborative work under the Marine Conservation Targets initiative, as well as related efforts related to Marine Spatial Planning and Marine Environmental Quality programs. Please direct questions either about the national process or DFO Maritimes Region funding opportunities to Glen Herbert (glen.herbert@dfo-mpo.gc.ca) or Sandy Skinner (sandy.skinner@dfo-mpo.gc.ca).
